Atlantic Beach, Boardwalk

I used HDR tools to create the above photo (1024×768) of the sunset over the Atlantic Beach boardwalk.

It was important to me to frame the sunset on Caesarea’s beach with Caesarea Maritima famous aqueduct. Because of the difficulty with taking photos with details of the sun as well as of the aqueduct I took two photos (30 seconds apart), with different settings (1/1000, F/22 and 1/200, F/10) and used software to combine the two to reach the desired results, above.

Update: On the photo above, it meets only some of my requirements for a ‘nicely composed photo‘ and I think that explains why it is more serene and less bold.

It was a bit tricky getting the right lighting as sunrise is 8:00 am and sunset is 3:00 pm and the sun never rises over the horizon – reaching a height of 9.5° and a direction span of only 70° (compare Stockholm to Jerusalem‘s 37° and 120°)
