Caesarea Beach Sunset

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

It was important to me to frame the sunset on Caesarea’s beach with Caesarea Maritima famous aqueduct. Because of the difficulty with taking photos with details of the sun as well as of the aqueduct I took two photos (30 seconds apart), with different settings (1/1000, F/22 and 1/200, F/10) and used software to combine the two to reach the desired results, above.

Update: Desktop wallpaper (1024×768) available.

When I took the original photo, I had in mind to digitally enhance the image like so.

HDR – Part II

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

After my first attempt at HDR was passable, I decided to try again.

I set up my tripod with a view of both the interior and exterior and bracketed my shots from an exposure time of 1/60 sec to 1/2 sec.

I am quite pleased with the results of the Tone Mapping using Photomatix. It really is an impossible picture with details available both inside and out.

London

Tuesday, April 4th, 2006

Nothing to me says London more than the ’Double-decker bus‘, in the background of this photo I took at Piccadilly Circus of Shaftesbury Memorial.

Take 2

Avi commented that the ‘background is entirely nondescript’ so I reworked the photo in photoshop with a different background. This one is a lot more dramatic.
Take 3

Then I tried with a completly pale blue sky.

I think my favorite is still the original. The cloud version takes away from the focus – the hill side, flowers, sheep and dog. The pale blue sky is also good, but the original has the added advantage of the pale hills in the distance, drawing the eye across the picture.

As always, comments welcome.

Before and After

I took this shot at Yaffo during sunrise, and I was able to frame the shot but hated the wires in the way. So… tried my hand at photoshop’ing – see before and after.

3-Piece Flatware?
Playing with a concept I really liked. I used three piece flatware, since it highlights the missing piece – yet there is still a shadow?
