This is shot of the entrance to the Great Synagogue of Rome. You need to view the larger version (click on picture above) for the full effect. On the top arch is a quote from Deuteronomy 28:6 – “Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out”. Framed behind the bars, it seemed ironic to me.
